Meeting Minutes

June 2nd, 2009

  1. Meeting called to order at 7:05 by President, Jim Weir.
  2. Jim went over some of the things the Association is responsible for and others that are the responsibility of the city or some other entity. He has been receiving calls and asked to correct some things that are not the Association's responsibility (dogs, cars parked on street, etc.) Anyone with a complaint should first refer to the covenants and/or guidelines on the website (vtha.org). Light bulbs have been replaced at the front. Sprinkler system now on to water 4 times per week.
  3. Jim reported for treasurer - $1,290.36 in checking; $13,300.98 in money market checking; and receivables of $14,684.38. The attorney has been given a list of all homeowners who are 2 years or more behind in dues and letters and/or small claims actions will begin on those within the next 2 weeks.
  4. Secretary, Linda Dyer, presented minutes from May 5, 2009. Gene Toni moved and Bruce Jones seconded approving the minutes. They were approved. Linda reported there are no known covenant violations at this time. One was reported to her (car parked on grass) and a letter will be sent to the homeowner. Web usage for May - 56 visits, 51 visitors from 4 countries. Pages visited mainly guidelines, minutes and announcements.
  5. Tim Mather, Beautification Chair, reported Leslie Gaither, 1701 South Lions, was named yard of the month for May. There were approximately 60 participants in the spring garage sale.
  6. Neighborhood Night Out party will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2009.
  7. Moving the Neighborhood party to a night in the fall was discussed. Members present were favorable toward the move, but no vote was taken.
  8. Linda Tyler moved and Bruce Jones seconded adjourning the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 PM.
  9. NEXT MEETING WILL BE NEIGHBORHOOD NIGHT OUT, AUGUST 3. NO JULY MEETING.
