  4. Vice President's Report - Mark Davis
    • Linear Park Update
      1. The City is planning a walking trail on the South Side of the green belt
      2. 20 residents attended the meeting on 7/1/2003 at 6pm, 4 - 5 from VTHA
      3. Trail will have a sun up / sun down curfew
      4. No lighting or additional parking
      5. Activity will begin this month for selective clearing
      6. To be completed this summer
      7. No bridges or ties to our neighborhood are currently in the plans
  5. Committee Updates
    • Beautification - Russell Clarkson
      1. The fountain pump continues to be a problem. Much discussion was had about the past history and the amount of money spent in maintenance. After several different topics, the members present made a motion to spend the $5,000 set aside in the contingency fund for a new, more powerful pump.
      2. Motion to spend the reserve funds of $5,000 set aside for the pump made by Travis Kelly, second by John Hammond. Motion passed unanimously.
    • Neighborhood Relations - Darren Spencer
      1. The 1st Annual VTHA Neighborhood Garage Sale was a hit. 58 homes participated.
    • Neighborhood Watch - Jim Weir (not present)
  6. Old Business
    • Sign for the Pond regarding fishing and swimming
      1. Decided the sign size proposed was too large, will go with two smaller signs
      2. Wording will change to reflect wildlife issues
  7. New Business
    • State of the playground mulch
      1. Several complaints and concerns have been voiced in the past couple of months
      2. Board is recommending the removal of the current mulch
      3. Order new mulch to replace the current
    • Project Needs
      1. Someone to call the City and find out if we can dump the old mulch in the green belt or find another disposal alternative
      2. Approval by the Association to spend $1000 for new mulch
      3. A volunteer to organize a work day with 10 men and 5 wheelbarrows, drinks, and food
      4. Motion to spend up to $1700 to replace the existing playground mulch by Richard Miller, second by Travis Kelly. Vote passed unanimously.
    • Sheds
      1. The issue of sheds was brought up again. The ARC Committee was in favor of a revision to the Guidelines, but the issues remains the VTHA Covenants restricting sheds. The ARC Committee is to prepare proposed revisions to the ARC Guidelines and the Covenants for The August Meeting.
