Meeting Minutes

May 2nd, 2006

Location: Lynn Wood Elementary

Time: 7:00 PM

  1. Meeting called to order at 7:00. Minutes of the April meeting were reviewed and accepted.
  2. President, Linda Dyer, reported that there had been inquiries from two residents about possible violations:
    • Commercial truck cab parked on street
    • Possible multiple violations at one residence - lawn not mowed (was mowed before meeting), fence not repaired (will be repaired), and multiple cars parked on street.
    • Violation letters will be sent this month on unkept lawns, outdoor storage buildings and inoperative vehicle.
    • Request for a petition for stop signs at Narcissus and Quincy will be handled by Mary Villareal and Lynn Wood PTA. Letter of endorsement from Vandever Trails Homeowners Association will be attached when it is presented to the city.
  3. Vice-president, Jim Weir, reported flagpole at the entrance damaged. Damage will be repaired. Residents in the vicinity of the entrance are asked to leave on their porch lights at night to help make the entrance brighter.
  4. Treasurer, Jim Weir, reported a checking account balance of $1,073.10, a money market balance of $19,620.19, 2 outstanding bills totaling $237.92, for a balance (after bills are paid) of $20,455.37. Outstanding dues total $13,506.30. We have earned interest of $143.71 so far this year. This will be much better than last year by the end of the year
  5. Secretary, Jennifer Graves, is moving from the addition. She has resigned as secretary.
  6. SECRETARY NEEDED..
  7. Committee Reports:
    • Beautification - Tim Mather
      1. Work in progressing on the dam at the pond. It has been slowed because the truck must come off Elm Place to avoid damaging the sprinkler system;
      2. Tim again announced that he has found a scooter and a fishing pole and is holding these items. They can be claimed by contacting Jim or Jana.
    • Welcoming - Joyce Hodges was introduced as a new board member in charge
      1. Of distributing welcome packets to new residents.
    • Special Projects - Need Board Member
    • Neighborhood Watch - Need Board Member
  8. Old Business:
    • Neighborhood Garage Sale - Saturday, May 6. Flyers were distributed Banner has been hung at the entrance announcing the sale and an ad will be placed in the Tulsa World.
    • National Night Out will be held at the playground on Tuesday, August 1, 2006. It will be very similar to last year.
  9. New Business:
    • Yard of the Month is starting now for the summer. Winners will be announced each month and a $50.00 prize will be awarded to the winner.
    • Wendland Nursery located at 93rd and Garnett, offers our residents a 20% discount on purchases.
  10. Questions and Comments from the Floor:
    • Possible purchase of streets in the addition. Not possible.
    • Announcement board located in the addition. Will be studied
  11. Motion was made by Marion Dyer to adjourn, seconded by Linda Tyler. Meeting adjourned.
