Meeting Minutes

September 5th, 2006

Location: Lynn Wood Elementary

Time: 7:00 PM

  1. Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by President, Linda Dyer.
  2. President, Linda Dyer, reported:
    • There is currently 1 covenant and architectural guidelines violation. We are working with the homeowners to correct.
    • So far in 2006, 2 newsletters have been distributed and a third will be distributed in Sept.
  3. Vice-President, Jim Weir, reported:
    • National Night out was well attended and a success. Tim Harris, District Attorney, Craig Thurman, Councilman and Vice-mayor, along with the Police Chief and representatives of the police department, attended. Jim estimated we had approximately 200 people during the 2-hour party.
  4. Treasurer, Jim Weir:
    • Checking account balance is $769.61. Money market balance $12,100.74.
    • 2006 interest - $370.85 (4.52%) Total 2005 interest Š $256.49.
    • We currently have $10,237.70 in unpaid dues. It was announced that anyone owing as much as 2-years dues will be sued in small claims court within approximately 45 days. Also, there is an outstanding judgment for unpaid dues that will be garnisheed within the next 30 days.
    • Submitted the proposed 2007 budget. Mary Titock-Villareal moved to accept the proposed budget; seconded by Elizabeth Debrah. Motion carried.
  5. Secretary Report - Linda Dyer (Acting):
    • Minutes of July 11, 2006 were approved as corrected.
  6. Committee Reports:
    • Beautification - Tim and Jana Mather - no report
    • Neighborhood Relations - Joyce Hodges - distribution of new residentÕs packets will resume this week.
    • Neighborhood Watch - Chairperson needed
      1. Joyce Hodges announced that she, as a representative of Colwell-Banker Realtors, will sponsor a neighborhood safety night in September. She will distribute a flyer announcing the date and time.
      2. Special Projects - Chairperson needed
  7. Old Business:
    • A fall neighborhood garage sale will be held Saturday, October 14. An ad will be placed in newspapers and the banner will be put at the entrance. It will also be announced in the September newsletter.
  8. New Business:
    • Officers and Committee Chairpersons will be elected in October. Anyone interested in serving as an officer, board member, or on the nominating committee should contact the president.
  9. Questions and Comments from the Floor:
    • Update on the 4-way stop sign at Narcissus and Quincy was discussed.
